News and Dates to Remember
- Tell Us! We are long overdue with "sympathies"
and "get wells" in our Newsletter. We apologize for this. If a friend or neighbor in town is ill, or
if a family has lost a member, please let Dorene at the Post Office know. She will tell us so that the
proper card may be sent to them from the Civic Association.

Past News Updates
- Many programs and events are sponsored through the
Rancocas Civi Association (RCA). If you have an idea for an event or a club, get
a "request for sponsorship" form from the RCA. (Janet has the forms - 267-4996)
- If you would like to become a member of the
ABCO Credit Union, just become a member of either the Rancocas Civi Association (yearly dues $2
per person) or the Westampton Township Historical Society (yearly dues: $10 per person,
$20 per family). ABCO will pay for your first year's dues. Stop down at the branch on
Main St. and ask for Gina.
- The Playground Project is ready to kick
off for the Little School and Meetinghouse yard. Many families enjoy the peace and quiet and
safe area for our children. We are asking you not to take advantage by leaving the toys out
or breaking the equipment. Unfortunately, the tables are being dragged and hidden behind
the Meetinghouse. The area is being used for drinking. Several bottles and trash have
been left behind. Also, the wooded area behind the Schoolhouse and up to the
basketball court belongs to a private individual and resident of the Village. Please
do not use it as a dumping ground.
- A Request: Please do not park cars in front of
the Community Center or in the Friends parking area on the weekends. The Community Center
is being rented out more and more as Spring and Summer nears and the weather is getting
nicer. We thank the Friends Meeting for allowing us the use of their parking area for the
renters. We would also like to thank ABCO Credit Union for the use of their parking
on the weekends.
- A Note from Teacher Nora: Please remember that all
of our children are invited to play on the grounds of the Friends' School. Please remember to use the
equipment properly. Keep the area as clean as you see it. From September until June, there is an
afternoon school program until 5:00 p.m. For insurance purposes, no one can be on
school grounds except the students and teacher.
- Dogs: Please clean up after your pets. There is an
ordinance in our township about this. Also, do not allow your dogs to run on
other's property. Thank you!
- House Numbers: There was a medical emergency in the
village recently and the emergency squad was delayed for 15 minutes looking for the house because
there were no house numbers visible at night. Please consider purchasing a lighted number box or
having a small light over your house number if possible.
- Chipping: is always the first of every month. We ask
everyone to put branches on your own property, or make other arrangements.
- Trash: We still have only one day a week for trash
collection, and it will stay that way for awhile longer. We are trying to find out why our trash is
sometimes picked up on Tuesday instead of Monday. Can't seem to get an answer. We have an ordinance
that trash cannot be placed at the curb prior to the evening before the morning pick-up. This helps
keep our neighborhood looking nice and not "trashy"!
- Friends Meeting Ball Field: The ball field on Main and
Green Streets belongs to the Friends Meeting, and is an area for children and families to play sports. It
has come to the Friends' attention that car parking and U-turns are making a mud pit on the corner. In
the near future there will be a No Parking sign posted. There will be no parking anywhere on the field.
- Stokes Road: Our Westampton Police Department is well
aware of the illegal left-hand turns onto Main Street from Stokes Road, but have not been able to "catch" the
cars when they have been watching. The drivers also make right-hand turns, but go right into a U-turn at
the base of the ball field, to go back onto Main Street. Are there any constructive ideas to resolve
this problem?
