Past News Updates
- Family Night of Fun and Games At the Community Center
at 7:00 p.m. We had our first one this past Saturday, March 1st. Checkers, scrabble and cards, etc. were
provided. This was the first of many fun-filled events. We're planning something like this every
month... perhaps food, bingo, games and movies and make-your-own sundaes. We can make this event
anything we all want it to be. We would like the Village resident's ideas... we need your help to make
it fun and come together as a community! If you have a favorite game that you would like to share,
please bring it with you. For any additional information, please
call: Byron Verner at 609-367-5264. Hope to see you!
- A Note from Teacher Nora: Please remember that all
of our children are invited to play on the grounds of the Friends' School. Please remember to use the
equipment properly. Keep the area as clean as you see it. From September until June, there is an
afternoon school program until 5:00 p.m. For insurance purposes, no one can be on
school grounds except the students and teacher. After 5:00 p.m. all are welcome.
- Dogs: Please clean up after your pets. There is an
ordinance in our township about this. Also, do not allow your dogs to run on
other's property. Thank you!
- Woods Clean-up: Please call Gil Gehin-Scott
(856-577-3866) and ask what days we will be working. Right now, we have been working on Saturday
morning at 9 a.m. Thank you!
- House Numbers: There was a medical emergency in the
village recently and the emergency squad was delayed for 15 minutes looking for the house because
there were no house numbers visible at night. Please consider purchasing a lighted number box or
having a small light over your house number if possible.
- Chipping: is always the first of every month. We ask
everyone to put branches on your own property, or make other arrangements.
- Trash: We still have only one day a week for trash
collection, and it will stay that way for awhile longer. We are trying to find out why our trash is
sometimes picked up on Tuesday instead of Monday. Can't seem to get an answer. We have an ordinance
that trash cannot be placed at the curb prior to the evening before the morning pick-up. This helps
keep our neighborhood looking nice and not "trashy"!
- Friends Meeting Ball Field: The ball field on Main and
Green Streets belongs to the Friends Meeting, and is an area for children and families to play sports. It
has come to the Friends' attention that car parking and U-turns are making a mud pit on the corner. In
the near future there will be a No Parking sign posted. There will be no parking anywhere on the field.
- Stokes Road: Our Westampton Police Department is well
aware of the illegal left-hand turns onto Main Street from Stokes Road, but have not been able to "catch" the
cars when they have been watching. The drivers also make right-hand turns, but go right into a U-turn at
the base of the ball field, to go back onto Main Street. Are there any constructive ideas to resolve
this problem?
